How we photograph colour
Every photograph above is of the colourway it labels, shot from that dye lot. No shade on this page is one sample digitally recoloured twelve times. Small-batch dyeing varies between lots, and received brighter than the photo — navy arriving as royal blue, specifically — is the largest single source of one-star reviews in this category.
Two consequences you should know about. Sandstone and Oat have no V-neck photograph at all, so they render as a flat hex; we would rather show you nothing than show you the wrong garment. And Midnight is a near-black aubergine, not a navy, whatever your screen does with #221b2c. If the exact shade is what decides the purchase, ask us for a photograph of current stock before you order.
Size & fit
Measurements are the garment laid flat, in centimetres. Sleeve is measured from the shoulder seam. Chest, sleeve and body length are all listed because sizing up fixes a tight chest and then gives you cuffs over your knuckles.

The V opening is the one measurement a V-neck buyer most wants and the one nobody in this category publishes, including us. It is unconfirmed rather than estimated. Sizes stop at 2XL — 73 cm long, 56 cm across the chest — so there is no big-and-tall version of this sweater.

Ply, grams and GSM are not stated on any men's sweater in the catalogue — the 8-ply muffler states its ply, the sweaters do not. These are the numbers buyers use to judge whether a sweater is substantial, so leaving them blank costs us sales. Guessing them would cost more.
Care
Hand wash at a maximum of 30 °C with a gentle wool detergent. Do not wring. Reshape while damp and lay flat to dry, out of direct sunlight. Do not machine wash. Some pilling in the first two or three wears is normal — here is why.
It is light. That is the point, and it is also the risk.
Across the 1,841 marketplace ratings we read for this category, one garment property produced both the best reviews and the worst. On the closest comparable product — a competitor's cashmere half-zip — “warm without bulk” came up nine times and was positive nine times out of nine, with no negatives at all. In the same dataset, “too thin for the price” is the most common four-star complaint. It is what costs these brands their fifth star.
Those are the same property described by two people with different expectations. Cashmere at 12–16 micron insulates by trapping air rather than by mass, so a lightweight sweater is doing its job, not cutting a corner. But if you are shopping for something dense and structured — a knit that stands up on its own, worn as outerwear — this is not that sweater, and no amount of copy will change what you feel when the parcel opens.
What decides which of those two reviews you write is knowing the numbers before you order. We are missing three of them, and they are marked to be confirmed in the table above rather than filled in with a plausible figure.
Lightness is also what makes this the one of the three most worth owning out of season: the open collar releases heat at the neck, which is where you notice being too warm first. V-neck or crew neck?
The two sweaters are the same yarn, the same machines, the same price and the same size chart. The neckline is the whole decision, and it is decided by what you wear underneath — the full set of options, from a plain tee to a collared shirt to nothing at all, is on What to Wear Under a Sweater. A crew neck covers them and looks better over a plain T-shirt or bare. Layering versatility came up repeatedly in the review data we read, with buyers explicitly checking whether the opening clears a collar before ordering.

Questions about this sweater
How deep is the V?
We do not know yet, so it is listed as to be confirmed rather than measured off a photograph. The workshop states length, chest and sleeve for every size and nothing about the neck opening. Until Pokhara measures it, the photographs on this page are the only evidence we can offer.
Can I wear a shirt and tie under it?
That is the reason to choose this over the crew neck. A crew opening is cut to sit flat over a collar and hide the knot; a V leaves the collar points and the tie visible. Reviewers in this category check neckline geometry explicitly before buying, so it is a stated purchase criterion rather than a detail.
Why 13 colours and not 14?
Sand is knitted on the crew neck only. Everything else is identical between the two sweaters: the same thirteen dye lots, the same $155, the same S to 2XL measurements, the same Pokhara workshop.
Which colours can I actually see photographed?
Eleven of the thirteen. Sandstone and Oat have never been photographed on the V-neck, and we show them as a flat dye hex rather than borrowing the crew neck's picture of the same dye lot. A photograph of a different garment is not evidence about this one.
Does it run small?
It runs true to the measurements in the table above, which is not the same thing as running true to your usual label. Runs small is the single biggest complaint in this category: 50 negative fit mentions across four competitor products, one of which concedes “may run small” in its own listing bullets. Measure a sweater you already own flat across the chest and compare. If you are between sizes, take the larger.
Is Midnight a navy?
No. Midnight is a near-black aubergine. It photographs as navy under some lighting and we would sell more of it by calling it navy, but received brighter or different than the photo is the largest source of one-star reviews in this category, so we would rather lose the sale than post the parcel.
Will it pill?
A little, in the first two or three wears, as short surface fibres work loose. It settles after that. Comb it gently with a cashmere comb rather than shaving it — a razor cuts fibre and leaves fresh ends that pill again sooner.
