Which swatch is the navy?
Yale Blue. It is our only navy: a dark navy with a hint of slate. It looks navy indoors and a shade closer to slate outside.
Is Midnight a navy?
No. Midnight is a near-black with a hint of purple, like a very dark aubergine. It is sold under its own name. If you want navy, choose Yale Blue.
Navy or black?
Navy, for most people and most outfits. It shows lint and pilling less than black, looks softer in daylight and goes under grey, brown and tweed. Black only wins at hiding stains.
Can I wear a navy sweater with a navy jacket?
Only if the two navies are clearly different, like a mid navy sweater under a very dark jacket with a pale shirt showing. If in doubt, wear grey trousers and keep it simple.
