What we hold, and what we do not

Privacy Policy

Written to be read rather than to be survived. Most privacy policies are long because the site collects a lot. This one is short because this site does not.

cashmeresweatermen.com has no shopping cart, no user accounts, no contact form and no analytics or advertising tags. We take no payment and store no payment data here. When you click a buy button you leave for yeshelpinghand.com, and from that point their privacy policy governs what is collected.

Who we are

This site is operated by Yes Helping Hand, a social enterprise founded in 2011 and based at Damside-17, Pokhara, Nepal. For anything on this page you can write to [email protected] or call +977 9856022008 — the same contact route the parent publishes on its own privacy policy. Full addresses are on Contact.

What this site collects

As of today, cashmeresweatermen.com is a catalogue and a set of guides. There is nowhere on it to type your name. Concretely:

Shopping cart / checkoutNone on this domain
Payment dataNever collected or stored here
User accounts or loginsNone
Contact or newsletter formNone on this domain
Analytics, advertising or tracking tagsNone currently loaded
Cookies set by usNone currently set
Hosting provider and server log retentionTo be confirmed

The one unavoidable item is the last one. Like every website, this one is served by a hosting provider, and hosting providers keep standard server logs — typically the requesting IP address, the page requested, a timestamp and a browser user-agent string. That is a technical necessity for delivering and securing the site, and the lawful basis for it is our legitimate interest in keeping the site running. Which provider, and how long those logs are kept, is marked above because we would rather leave it blank than assert a retention period we have not verified.

If you email us, we hold your email and whatever you wrote for as long as it takes to answer you and keep a record of the conversation. See the retention row at the foot of this page.

What happens when you click through to buy

Every buy button here is an outbound link to a product listing on yeshelpinghand.com. That is a different website. Once you are there, Yes Helping Hand collects what any store needs to fulfil an order — its published policy lists name, email address, mailing address, billing address, phone number and payment information, plus non-personal data such as IP address, browser type, operating system and browsing behaviour.

It uses that to process payments, fulfil orders and provide support; it shares it with third-party service providers who help operate the store, process payments and deliver goods; and it may disclose it where legally required or in a business transfer. The parent's policy was last updated 26 August 2024 and the current text is at yeshelpinghand.com/privacy-policy. We are restating it, not replacing it — where the two differ, theirs governs your order.

Cookies

We do not currently set cookies on this domain, and there is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to. If that changes — if we add analytics, for example — we will add a consent mechanism before the tag, not after it, and update this section.

Fonts on this site are served from our own domain rather than fetched from a third party at page load, which avoids passing your IP address to a font host.

Your rights under GDPR

If you are in the EU, the EEA or the UK, data protection law gives you rights over personal data we hold about you. Because the amount we hold on this domain is very small, most of these will be quick to satisfy — but they apply regardless:

  • Access — ask what we hold about you and get a copy.
  • Rectification — have inaccurate data corrected.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete it, subject to any legal or contractual obligation to keep it.
  • Restriction — ask us to stop processing it while a dispute is resolved.
  • Portability — receive it in a machine-readable form.
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time.
  • Withdraw consent — where processing relies on consent, withdraw it without affecting what was done beforehand.
  • Complain — lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office; in the EU it is your member state's data protection authority.

To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We do not charge for it. If your request concerns an order you placed, it is really a request to the parent store, and we will say so and point you there rather than sit on it.

Sending data to Nepal

We are based in Nepal. If you are in the EU or the UK and you email us, your personal data travels to a country outside the EEA. Nepal is not covered by a European Commission adequacy decision, so a transfer like this needs an appropriate safeguard — standard contractual clauses, or your explicit consent for the specific transfer.

We are stating that plainly rather than glossing it. The safeguard we rely on is listed as unconfirmed below, because putting “we use standard contractual clauses” on a page before the clauses exist would be a claim, not a policy.

Changes to this policy

If this site gains a cart, a form or an analytics tag, this page changes before the feature ships rather than afterwards. The related documents are Terms of Service and Contact.
