- Crew neck with grey trousers. The strongest look. Grey lets the red stand out without looking dressed up.

- Under a charcoal or navy jacket. Both work. Navy is the more classic of the two.
- With dark denim. The easiest weekend version.

Caring for a red
Wash it on its own for the first few washes. Hand wash at 30 °C or cooler with a gentle wool detergent, and dry it flat out of direct sun. Strong reds fade in sunlight, so dry indoors.
Screens struggle with deep reds, so the photos may look slightly flatter or brighter than the real thing. Some pilling in the first wears is normal. Does cashmere pill? And what stops it.

Is it a bright red or a deep red?
In between. Crimson Red is a deep, cool crimson, between a pillar-box scarlet and a burgundy. It reads clearly red in daylight. It is not an orange-red and not an oxblood.
Will the red bleed in the wash?
Wash it on its own the first few times. Hand wash at 30 °C or cooler with a gentle wool detergent, then dry flat out of direct sun. Any deep red can give up a little dye early on.
What colour trousers go with a red cashmere sweater?
Grey or charcoal first, then dark denim, then navy. Avoid tan, olive and mid-brown, which clash with a cool red.
