Two photographs exist. This is the second one.
The crew neck has four shots of every colourway — front, sitting, side, back. This sweater has two front views and nothing else. There is no side, no back, and no close-up of the zip pull or the funnel collar, which are the two things you would most want to see before spending $120.
Photography pending. We are not going to fill that gap with a crew neck or a V-neck shot recoloured to look right. Every photograph on this site is of the garment and the dye lot it labels — no shade is one sample digitally recoloured, because received brighter than the photo is the largest single source of one-star reviews in this category. A picture of a different sweater is not evidence about this one.
Muted Grey-Blue is a cool grey with blue in it (#6B6D7A), not a true neutral. The parent catalogue lists it as “Grey”. It is also shot on a bluer studio backdrop than the other two sweaters, which pushes it further towards blue on screen than it is in the hand. Ask us for a photograph of current stock if the exact shade decides the purchase.

Its 50 cm chest is an M; its 65 cm body sits between S and M; and its 60 cm sleeve is the shortest we make, equal to a size S — so if you are tall or long-armed, expect the cuff to sit high on the wrist even if the chest is right. Sleeve and body length specifically are the sub-theme that defeats the usual size-up workaround in this category, which is why they are listed separately rather than folded into a range.

Six rows unconfirmed is more than we would like. Ply, grams, GSM and gauge are not stated on any men's sweater in the catalogue — the 8-ply muffler states its ply, the sweaters do not. Zip length and zip material are not stated anywhere at all. Every one of these is a number a buyer would use, and every one of them would be a guess.
Care
Hand wash at a maximum of 30 °C with a gentle wool detergent. Do not wring. Reshape while damp and lay flat to dry, out of direct sunlight. Do not machine wash. Close the zip before washing so the slider cannot drag across the knit.
Natural pilling may appear during the first two or three wears — comb it gently if needed, and use a cashmere comb rather than a razor. Why cashmere pills, and what stops it.
Light on purpose — and why that is the argument you should check
Across the 1,841 marketplace ratings we read for this category, one garment property produced both the best reviews and the worst, and the product it showed up on most clearly was a half-zip much like this one. On that sweater, “warm without bulk” came up nine times and was positive nine times out of nine — no negatives at all. A funnel neck stands away from the throat in a straight column: it does not fold back on itself like a turtleneck, and it does not sit tight against the neck like a mock. With the zip open it frames a shirt collar; with the zip closed it covers one.

Will the free size fit me?
Laid flat it is 65 cm long, 50 cm across the chest and 60 cm along the sleeve from the shoulder seam. That places it between our S and our M. If you wear L, XL or 2XL in the crew neck or the V-neck, this sweater will not fit you — there is no larger size to order, and no big-and-tall version exists. The sleeve is the other thing to check: 60 cm is the shortest sleeve we make, the same as a size S.
Why is there only one size?
Because the workshop cuts it as a free size and we are not going to describe that as a feature. It is the single biggest limitation of this sweater and the reason it sells fewer units than the crew neck, which runs S to 2XL in fourteen colours.
Is it a funnel neck or a mock neck?
A funnel neck. The collar stands away from the throat in a straight column rather than folding back on itself like a turtleneck or hugging the neck like a mock. The zip runs down the front of that collar, so you can open it flat or close it to the chin.
How long is the zip, and what is it made of?
To be confirmed. The catalogue states the composition, the construction and the free-size measurements, and says nothing about zip length, zip material or collar height. Those are listed as unconfirmed in the specification above rather than estimated off a photograph.
Can I wear a collared shirt under it?
Yes, and the zip is what makes that work. Open, the funnel collar sits away from a shirt collar instead of pushing it up the way a crew opening can. Closed, it covers the collar entirely and reads as a standalone piece.
